CATE ADRIANA
Cathelijne Stassar Biskop (35) is a self-taught painter and artist based in
Breda, the Netherlands. Growing up in a creative family that fostered a rich environment for expression, she was encouraged to explore her artistic side from an early age. Since 2016, she has devoted herself full-time to her art, embracing the freedom that comes with
being self-taught.
Her work reflects a deep admiration for the strength and beauty of the female form,
the diverse natural landscapes that surrounded her during her formative years, and a fascination with the unseen—emotions and thoughts that reside within the human psyche. Cate’s artistic journey
is characterized by a commitment to exploring themes of identity and resilience.
“In my art, I aim to express the powerful interplay between the resilience of the
female body, the enduring essence of nature, and the complexities of the human mind. Each piece invites viewers to delve into the harmony between the visible and the hidden, creating a narrative
that celebrates both inner and outer worlds. Through my work, I strive to evoke a sense of wonder and introspection, encouraging a deeper appreciation for the intricate tapestry of
life.”
